A mosque housing the shrine attributed to the Prophet Daniel, beneath which Roman-period bridge remains can be seen.
Its story
Daniel, considered a prophet in the Islamic and Jewish traditions, is believed to be buried in Tarsus. During the construction of the mosque where the shrine is located, a Roman-period bridge and building remains were identified over the stream flowing beneath it. Today these remains can be seen through a glass floor and in the garden layout.
