Its story
The original construction date of the mosque, which takes its name from Şeyh Çabuk, remembered in tradition as one of the envoys of the Prophet Muhammad, is not known for certain. The building acquired its present appearance in the 15th century. It has a transversely developed plan, a general feature of Mardin's mosques and masjids. Its position on the road in the western part of 1. Cadde, as you enter the old city from the direction of the Kasımiye Madrasa, makes it an easy stop when starting a walk through old Mardin. During the visit, the mosque's plain facade can be examined together with the workmanship of the surrounding stone houses.
