Its story
Şaban-ı Veli, born in Taşköprü, carried out spiritual guidance in Kastamonu after studying in Kastamonu and Istanbul, and his name has become identified with the city. The first form of the mosque in the complex was built before 1490 by Seyyid Ahmed Sünneti Efendi, and it took its present form when enlarged in 1580. The tomb was completed in 1611, and a library was built in the same period. Of the lodge houses, the central building has been arranged as a museum, displaying Şaban-ı Veli's belongings, objects of the order and works by Kastamonu calligraphers. The 'Asa Suyu' (Staff Water) fountain in the courtyard is a frequent stop for visitors.
