Its story
The aqueduct was built by Mimar Sinan in the 1560s during the renewal of the Kırkçeşme water line on the orders of Süleyman the Magnificent. Spanning the Alibey Stream valley in two tiers, the structure is considered one of the works that best reflect Sinan's engineering mastery. Also mentioned in the texts in which Sinan describes his own works, the aqueduct stands in a wooded valley. Together with the other aqueducts in the Kemerburgaz area, it forms a walking route.
