Ezine Cheese
Ezine, Çanakkale
A full-fat white cheese made from a blend of goat's, sheep's and cow's milk, the first Turkish cheese registered in the EU.
Its story
Ezine cheese is a full-fat white cheese made in some villages of Ezine, Bayramiç, Ayvacık and Çan from the milk of animals grazing on the foothills of the Kaz Mountains. It acquires its distinctive aroma from mixing goat's, sheep's and cow's milk in set proportions and from a long aging period. Protected by a geographical indication in Türkiye, it became the first Turkish cheese registered in the European Union. It can be tasted and bought at dairies and delicatessens in the Ezine bazaar.
