Its story
This rock tomb on the Ziyaret road takes its name ('mirrored cave') from its smoothed facade, which shines like a mirror in the sun. The roughly 13-meter-high facade is reached by four steps; the tomb dates to the Hellenistic period. In the Byzantine period its interior was used as a chapel, and paintings depicting the apostles were made on its vault. Unlike the King Rock Tombs, it lies outside the city and close to road level. Because the surroundings are fenced off for protection, today it can generally be seen only from outside.
