Its story
At this site within the boundaries of Taşgedik village, about 17 km north of Adıyaman, rock-cut tombs are accompanied by a 'dexiosis' relief, the handshake between god and king typical of Commagene art; it depicts the Sun God Helios and King Antiochus. Carved inside a rectangular niche, the relief, together with similar ones at Nemrut and Arsameia, reflects the Commagene kings' idea of presenting themselves as equal to the gods. Set in a quiet, rural setting, the site can be seen as a continuation of a visit to Perre.
