Delice Bridge (Yerköy)
Yerköy, Yozgat
A four-arched stone bridge over the Delice River, thought to stand on the site of a Roman-period bridge.
Its story
The bridge crossing the Delice River near the village of Delice is about 25 meters long and has four arches. Its arches are of cut stone in barrel-arch form, while its piers are built of irregular stones. The German archaeologist Hans Henning von der Osten mentions the remains of a Roman bridge in this area in his 1927 publication. The possibility that the Delice Bridge, which appears to have been repaired previously, is this Roman bridge is being considered.
