Its story
Sağman is a historic settlement that was for a time a sanjak and kaza (district) center in the Ottoman period; it was governed by beys descended from Pir Hüseyin Bey, who ruled the region in the 16th century. According to the TDV Encyclopedia of Islam, the mosque in the village dates to 1565–1570; it consists of a square-plan prayer hall, a three-bay narthex on the north facade, and an iwan and cells at the sides. West of the prayer hall is a tomb with an octagonal body and pyramidal cap; the mosque and tomb are built of cut stone. The village also has a historic fountain linked to Keyhüsrev Bey. GoTürkiye states that the centuries-old monumental plane tree in Sağman has been placed under protection by the Regional Council for the Conservation of Cultural and Natural Assets, and that in front of it there is a fountain and pool that flow all year; the shade of the tree is the most peaceful stop on a village visit.
