Its story
Hayrabolu tatlısı is made by cooking a dough prepared from unsalted lor cheese and soaking it in syrup. Although it resembles Kemalpaşa tatlısı, its preparation is different, and it is traditionally served topped with tahini and walnuts or kaymak (clotted cream). The dessert was registered with a geographical indication by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in 2021. It is the local specialty anyone passing through Hayrabolu should taste in the town center.
