Its story
The Rızvaniye Mosque, stretching along the north edge of the Halil-ür Rahman Lake, was commissioned in the 18th century by the Ottoman governor Rızvan Ahmet Paşa. Its arcaded courtyard running along the lake, its madrasa rooms and its cut-stone facade form the architectural frame of Balıklıgöl. The space under the arcades is a cool resting place in summer and also the best spot for watching the lake and the Halil-ür Rahman Mosque on the opposite shore. The poolside in front of the mosque is the liveliest part, where visitors feed the fish.
