Its story
The museum in the town of Alifuatpaşa in Geyve is in the building used as headquarters by Ali Fuat (Cebesoy) Paşa, Commander of the Western Front during the War of Independence. In the Kuvâ-yı Milliye (National Forces) period, the area was of critical importance for the security of the railway line between Istanbul and Ankara. The museum displays documents, photographs, weapons and personal belongings from the period. The town takes its name from Ali Fuat Paşa. It is a meaningful stop for those interested in the history of the War of Independence.
