Its story
The Niğde Alaeddin Mosque was commissioned in 1223 in the name of Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I by Zeyneddin Beşare Bey, governor of Niğde. According to its inscriptions, its chief architects were Sıddık and Ebubekir. Built entirely of fine cut stone, the mosque is notable for its multi-support plan without a courtyard and the three domes side by side in front of the mihrab. The richly decorated muqarnas portals on the north and east facades are fine examples of Seljuk stonework. It stands inside the castle, at a point overlooking the city.
