Telmessos Ancient Theater

A restored Roman theater from ancient Telmessos, right across from Fethiye harbor.
Its story
Present-day Fethiye is built on top of the ancient city of Telmessos, on the border between Lycia and Caria. Most of the city's remains lie beneath modern development, but the theater opposite the harbor has been brought to light. Restoration work has rearranged the seating rows and the stage building. Together with the rock tombs and the Fethiye Museum, the theater forms a short walking route tracing the city's ancient past.
