Pedasa Ancient City
Bodrum, Muğla
A Carian settlement associated with the Leleges, founded on hills within pine forest near Konacık.
Its story
Pedasa is an old Carian settlement in the interior of the Bodrum Peninsula, on hilly ground north of present-day Konacık. The acropolis, wall remains and tumulus-type tombs reflect the building tradition of the Leleges, known as the peninsula's early inhabitants. The city lost its importance when it was joined to Halicarnassus in the 4th century BC. Together with the Lelegian Way hiking trails, the site shows a side of the peninsula far from the crowds.
