Its story
For most of antiquity, Lagina was a religious center belonging to the territory of Stratonikeia. Here stood a monumental temple dedicated to the goddess Hecate, where great festivals were held every year. The temple's friezes are now partly displayed at the İstanbul Archaeological Museums. The remains of the propylon, altar and stoa uncovered by excavations can be seen at the site near the village of Turgut. It is recommended to visit it on the same day as Stratonikeia.
