Its story
Beçin stands on a steep rocky hill on the Ören road, 5 km south of Milas. Settlement on the hill goes back to the Bronze Age, but the city gained its real importance in the 14th century, when it became the center of the Menteşe Beylik. The city, visited by Ibn Battuta, has the Ahmet Gazi Madrasa, the Orhan Bey Mosque, hammams and tombs. From the castle walls there is a wide view over the Milas plain.
