Its story
The Erdemli Pine Grove is a pine grove stretching for about 3 km between the D.400 highway and the Mediterranean shore. Declared a picnic area in 1962 and a nature park in 2011, the site's official name was given in memory of Talat Göktepe, a forest director who lost his life in 1994 while fighting a forest fire at Gelibolu. In the 26.14-hectare area, Turkish pine, stone pine and myrtle are widespread; the coastal part consists of beach and dunes. The park also has a camping area.
