Mersin Atatürk House Museum
Akdeniz, Mersin
A historic mansion built in the late 19th century where Atatürk stayed on his visits to Mersin, which can be visited today as a museum.
Its story
The two-story stone mansion right next to the seafront boulevard was built at the end of the 19th century for a wealthy family. Atatürk stayed in this house on his visits to the city, and the building was later converted into a museum by the state. The interiors display furniture of the period, photographs and personal belongings. The building also reflects the residential architecture of the years when Mersin was growing rapidly as a port city.
