A lighthouse built in 1911 on Cape Anamur, the southern tip of Anatolia.
Its story
The Anamur Lighthouse is on Cape Anamur, also popularly called Rüzgârlı Burun (Windy Cape), the southernmost point of the Anatolian peninsula. Built in 1911 by a French company, the lighthouse ran on fuel until 1999 and then switched to electricity. The 10-meter lighthouse on a hill at an altitude of 68 meters shows a double white flash every ten seconds and can be seen from 20 nautical miles. The ancient city of Anemurium is right next to the cape.
