Its story
Kaymakçı, near Hacıveliler village, is a fortified settlement dating to the 2nd millennium BC. Because of its size and location, it is regarded as one of the strongest candidates for the capital of the Seha River Land mentioned in Hittite texts. The hill commands a bird's-eye view of Lake Marmara (Marmara Gölü) and the Bin Tepe plain.
