Horozlu Han
Selçuklu, Konya
The Seljuk caravanserai closest to the city on the old Konya–Akşehir road; commissioned in the mid-13th century by Emir Esedüddin Ruzbe.
Its story
The han was commissioned by Emir Esedüddin Ruzbe, chamberlain of Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev II and atabeg of İzzeddin Keykâvus II; its name is also thought to come from a corruption of Ruzbe. As it has no inscription, its construction date is placed between 1246 and 1249 based on its patron's life. The building, consisting of a covered winter section and a summer section with a courtyard, was repaired in 1956 and comprehensively restored by the Foundations administration in the 1970s. It is in the Horozluhan neighborhood, about 7 km north of the city center.
