Tomb of Emirgazi (Emrullah Gazi)
Emirgazi, Konya
A Karamanid-period tomb with a circular plan and conical cap, attributed to Emrullah Gazi, who gave the district its name.
Its story
The tomb, about 2 km southeast of the Emirgazi district center, is attributed to Emrullah Gazi, who gave the district its name. Although its construction date is not known for certain, it is dated to the 14th–15th-century Karamanid period. The circular-plan, single-story building is covered with a conical cap; inside there is a sarcophagus thought to have been placed in recent times. The tomb was restored in 2006.
