Its story
The Nur Mosque was built to a design by the architect Necip Dinç and laid out as a complex together with the mufti's office building and a bazaar. Its design is based on the octagonal baldachin (dome-support) system of the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne, Mimar Sinan's masterpiece, combining the classical style with contemporary interpretations. With its wide dome and slender minarets, it is the most prominent building in the city skyline. It is also notable for its night lighting. It is a suitable stop for a short break in the city center.
