Its story
Atlas Han, also known as the Ayrancı Hanı, is on a flat plain within the boundaries of the village of Hüyükburun, between the Karaman–Ayrancı road and the railway. Dated to the 13th-century Anatolian Seljuk period and estimated to be about 800 years old, the han is referred to as the first han encountered on descending from the Taurus to the plain. It is a compact building with a courtyard surrounded by arcades in the middle; the large spolia blocks and column bases brought from Roman and Byzantine buildings in its walls stand out. Although treasure hunters have removed some stones, the building is generally standing. Locally it is said to have been commissioned by an old woman; today it is used by villagers as an animal pen.
