A historic Catholic church that is part of Bornova's Levantine heritage.
Its story
The church was one of the centers of religious life for the Levantine families who settled in Bornova in the 19th century. At that time Bornova was a summer resort known for the garden mansions of İzmir's merchant families. Some of the Levantine mansions, such as Pandespanya, Paterson and Belhomme, still stand in the streets around the church. It can be visited together with a short architectural walk in central Bornova.
