Kızılçullu Aqueducts

Historic arches in Şirinyer crossing the Meles Çayı valley, which once carried water to the city.
Its story
Kızılçullu is the old name of today's Şirinyer district, and in the 19th century it was also known as 'Paradiso'. The two-tiered stone arches over the Meles Çayı are part of the historic line that carried water to İzmir. Although their construction date is not known for certain, the arches long served the city's water needs. It is an easily reached historic stop within the city.
