Hisar Castle (Kiraz)

Roman-period castle remains near Hisar village in Kiraz, overlooking the Küçük Menderes valley.
Its story
Hisar Castle is on a hill commanding the valley near Hisar village, west of Kiraz. Together with Yağlar Castle, it is counted among the defensive structures surviving from the Roman period. Around Kiraz there are also ancient settlements such as Baretta and Kaleköy and rock tombs in Erenler village. It can be visited together with the recreation areas along the Küçük Menderes coming down from Bozdağ and Çatak Waterfall.
