Its story
Garipçe is an old fishing village built on a rocky headland at the Black Sea entrance to the Bosphorus. The castle beside the village is one of the redoubts built in the 18th century to protect the Bosphorus against the Russian fleet. From the top of the village you can see the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and Poyrazköy opposite. Enlivened by breakfast places at weekends, the village looks like a quiet fishing settlement on weekdays.
