İstanbul Naval Museum

Türkiye's largest naval museum, with Ottoman imperial caiques and an extensive collection on maritime history.
Its story
The museum was founded in 1897 in Kasımpaşa and moved in 1961 next to the Tomb of Barbaros in Beşiktaş. The caiques hall of its new building, opened in 2013, displays imperial caiques from the 17th–19th centuries. The collection also includes nautical charts, ship models, weapons and items from the Savarona yacht used by Atatürk. The museum, affiliated with the Naval Forces Command, is within walking distance of the Beşiktaş pier.
