Büyük Çamlıca Hill
Üsküdar, İstanbul
One of the highest hills within the city on the Asian side; a viewpoint whose grove and viewing terrace show both shores at once.
Its story
The hill, about 260 meters high, has been a recreation spot for İstanbulites since Ottoman times. The grove on the hill is laid out with walking paths and viewpoints. From here you can see the Bosphorus bridges, the Historic Peninsula, the Princes' Islands and the Sea of Marmara at the same time. Most of the transmitter antennas that once covered the hill were removed with the opening of the Çamlıca Tower on Küçük Çamlıca.
