Its story
The house was built in 1906 by Tevfik Fikret to his own drawings, and the poet lived here, in the house he named 'Aşiyan' (nest), until his death in 1915. Converted into a museum in 1945, the building displays Tevfik Fikret's belongings, manuscripts and paintings, as well as memorabilia of poets such as Abdülhak Hamid Tarhan and Ahmet Haşim. The poet's grave is also in the museum garden. From the museum, affiliated with the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality, you can see the narrowest part of the Bosphorus.
