Eğirdir's historic Ulu Mosque (Grand Mosque), opposite the Dündar Bey Madrasa.
Its story
The Hızır Bey Mosque, in the historic center of Eğirdir, shares the same square with the Dündar Bey Madrasa. Although its exact construction date is unknown, it is attributed to Hızır Bey and is large enough to hold a sizable congregation. After being damaged in a fire in 1814, it was rebuilt faithfully to its original plan. Its wooden ceiling and plain interior reflect the tradition of the beylik period.
