Its story
The Taşhanlar were commissioned in the 17th century by Taban Ahmet Ağa, Chief of the Sipahis of Şebinkarahisar, on both sides of the road climbing to the castle. The masonry buildings were used as a prison between 1915 and 1939; they were heavily damaged in and after the 1939 Erzincan earthquake. Today the remains within the bazaar bear traces of Ottoman commercial buildings.
