Its story
According to the Ministry's introduction, the monastery was built in the Byzantine period inside a large natural hollow in the middle of a steep cliff and is Türkiye's second-largest natural and rock-cut monastery. On four floors there are a dormitory, a school room, a refectory, a fountain and, on the top floor, a church with three apses. It opened to tourism after the 2013–2014 restoration. It is reached by a short walk from the Kayadibi neighborhood of the village of Sarıyer.
