Its story
The castle, also known as Petroma, is on natural rocks controlling the Harşit Valley, between the villages of Örenkaya and Karaahmetli. Who commissioned it is debated: according to one view, it was built by the Hacıemiroğulları, according to another by the Genoese. Today the gate and a few wall remains are standing; steps carved into the rock and the places for storage jars can be seen. The castle, which from afar looks like a natural rock outcrop, offers a wide valley view.
