Its story
The han, where tobacco merchants once stayed and traded, is accepted to have been built in the mid-18th century by Hüseyin Ağa, son of Nur Ali Ağa. It belongs to the two-story, single-courtyard group of Ottoman han architecture; the rooms and porticoes arranged around the square courtyard display plain but careful workmanship with alternating black and white stone. After its 2006 restoration, its courtyard came alive with cafés and local food venues, and its rooms were turned into shops. It is a good stop for a break on a walk through the historic bazaar.
