Its story
The building, also known as the İnceoğlu or Elbeyli Han, is thought to have been built in the late 19th century, in the same years as the Kürkçü Han dated 1890, because of the similarity of their plans and decoration. The single-courtyard, two-story han consists of two separate sections: a soap workshop (sabunhane) and a han. Each section has its own main gate, but they are connected on the upper floor by a passage; this arrangement is seen only here among Gaziantep's hans. On the ground floor, storerooms and outward-facing shops surround the open courtyard, and on the upper floor are the rooms where travelers stayed. As it is very close to the castle, it is easily added to a tour of the historic center.
