Its story
The mosque, said to have been commissioned by Kadı Kemaleddin or Boyacı Yusuf, is among the city's oldest buildings; the inscription on its minbar states that part of it was completed in 1357 in the Mamluk period, and another inscription records that it was repaired in 1575. The mosque's most interesting feature is its minbar, which sits set into the wall on rails: on Fridays it is pulled out, and after the sermon it is pushed back into place. In its courtyard is the Women Martyrs' Monument, built for the women who lost their lives in the defense of Antep and known as the first monument erected in Türkiye in the name of women martyrs.
