Safety warning
Its story
The church takes its name from Emperor Constantine and his mother Helena; it was built in 1869 in less than seven months. It is a typical example of 19th-century Orthodox church architecture. Having lost its congregation and fallen into ruin in the first half of the 20th century, the building had only its four walls left standing. After a restoration carried out with Bulgaria's support, it reopened in 2008 and once again hosts services today.
