Its story
Muradiye Mosque was commissioned by Murad II in 1435–36 on the hill northeast of the city. The building was originally part of a Mevlevi complex and was later converted into a mosque. The mihrab and prayer hall walls of the inverted-T-plan mosque are clad in 15th-century tiles, counted among the early examples of Ottoman tile art. The complex's soup kitchen and school have not survived. The view from the hill toward the Selimiye also rewards the visit.
