Its story
Kapılıkaya is carved into the northwest corner of a rock mass extending north in steep terrain cut by deep valleys, between Laçin and Kırkdilim, about 27 kilometers north of Çorum. It is a Hellenistic rock tomb dated to the 2nd century BC. The tomb is reached by a steep path rising on the left side of the rock and steps completing it; the inner chamber is entered through a small square opening in the middle of the facade. Above the door the inscription 'Ikezios' and a later-added cross mark can be seen; in the square-plan burial chamber there are burial beds on either side of the entrance. From the pine-forested slope where the tomb is, the whole valley can be seen.
