Its story
According to tradition, Hacı Murad-ı Veli was born in Turkestan in the 12th century, trained in the tradition of Ahmed Yesevi and settled in 1187 in Seydi village in Eldivan; the village's name is said to come from him. The mosque and tomb are under the same roof; the tomb adjoining the east wall of the rubble-stone, wooden-roofed mosque contains the square-plan, domed section with the grave of Hacı Murad-ı Veli. In the front room are the cenotaphs of his son and daughters and two meteorites considered sacred locally. The tomb is also known for the commemorative events held as part of the Eldivan Cherry Festival. Although architecturally simple, it is one of the most visited places of faith in the region.
