Emir Han
Osmangazi, Bursa
One of Bursa's oldest hans, built as a source of income for the Orhan Gazi Complex, with an ablution fountain in its courtyard.
Its story
Emir Han was built in the 14th century to provide income for the complex Orhan Gazi gave the city. A two-story urban han with a courtyard and arcades, its ground floor was given over to storerooms and stables and its upper floor to merchants' rooms. Over the centuries it was damaged by earthquakes and fires and repaired several times. The tea stalls and trees in its courtyard offer a resting spot away from the crowds in the hans district. It lies on the short walking route between the Ulu Mosque and Koza Han.
