Its story
Sagalassos was built on the slope of the Ağlasun Mountains at about 1,500 meters and became the most important city of Pisidia in the Roman Imperial period. Thanks to long-running excavations, the Antonine Fountain has been re-erected and, after about two thousand years, has begun to run with water again. The Roman bath, library, theater for about 9,000 people, temples and Heroon form a unique ensemble against the mountain scenery. The city was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2009. Before or after the visit, the Sagalassos statues in the Burdur Museum should be seen.
