Its story
Bubon was built on the hill above İbecik village in Gölhisar and was one of the members of the four-city league (tetrapolis) led by Kibyra. The city is known for a Sebasteion (imperial cult building) where bronze statues of Roman emperors were found; some of these statues were smuggled abroad through illegal excavations in the 1960s, and some have since been returned to Turkey. Theater and building remains can be made out on the hill. The site is a quiet, little-visited place to explore.
