Its story
Susurluk is known for its frothy ayran and toast, which became famous because the town was a rest stop on the Istanbul–İzmir road. Susurluk ayran, with its thick, frothy consistency, and the Susurluk toast eaten alongside it are registered with geographical indications. The ayran is traditionally whisked to a froth in copper vessels and served in a bowl. It can be tasted in the district center and at many roadside spots.
