Its story
Kirazlı Monastery is a monastery and church group built at the foot of the mountain on the Kapıdağ Peninsula known in antiquity as Dindymos. The masonry technique indicates that it was used by the Greek Orthodox community in the 19th century. The church's south wall and part of its apse are still standing; the foundations show that it had two stories above a basement. Its quiet setting in the forest can be combined with a short nature walk.
