A Carian city on the south bank of the Büyük Menderes, inhabited in the Hellenistic to Byzantine periods.
Its story
Orthosia is a Carian city on the hills south of Nazilli, on the left bank of the Büyük Menderes River. It was inhabited in the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods. Ancient sources report that a clash between the Rhodians and the Carians took place nearby. The remains on the hill are limited; traces of a theater and walls have been documented by research.
