Its story
It stands on a small hill northwest of the village of Bağdaşen, east of Bilbilan Yaylası on the Ardahan–Artvin provincial border. Although its construction date is not known for certain, its embrasure layout resembles those of Şeytan Kalesi and Kurtkale, so it is dated to the same medieval phase; the Ottomans took the region in the mid-16th century, and the castle was also repaired in this period. Spread over an area of about 52 x 45 meters, the irregularly planned castle has three semicircular towers, and its preserved walls are quite high. Part of the south wall has collapsed. Because of its high elevation, the summer months, when the highland pastures turn green, are the best time to visit; the surroundings offer wide yayla views.
